The World Trade Center Transportation Hub was designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Soaring bird as the basic shape, connecting 11 subway lines in New York City and the New York-New Jersey Railroad, set transfer stations, shopping centers and pedestrian passages and other functions as a whole. The entire structure, from the outside, looks like a white dove of peace, spreading its wings, just about to spread its wings and fly.We Sunray have over 20 years of experience with skylights and can keep them intact in the smallest size package possible, so it's not only safe but shipping costs are minimized.
Santiago Calatrava decided on a electric skylight for the roof in order to emphasize the concept of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. FOSHAN SUNRAY WINDOWS LIMITED COMPANY was chosen as the partner for this project.
The natural light from the skylight gives new life to this flying bird, and you'll marvel at it just by being inside.
The entire building has a striking bird-like structure, and from the outside it looks like a white dove of peace with its wings spread out, about to take off. The interior of the building stretches out from the 355-foot-long "eye" that looks out over the New York sky. It is constructed of white steel tubing and glass to bring natural light into the center's interior. The building is 60 feet deep, connecting the street outside to the interior of the PATH station.
This is one of Sunray Skylights' more classic projects, and it would have to be a vendor with 30 years of skylight experience to complete an installation in this irregular building, and can provide a safety inspection report that guarantees 100% safety.
